About 20,000 units of the Handy Manny toolbox toys were recalled on February 12th 2009 due to a voluntary recall by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. The reason for this recall was because the eyes on the tools detach and can pose a chocking hazard to young children.
There were three reports of detached eyes and two of which were reports of children choking on the loose pieces. This toy was exclusively sold at Disney stores and anyone who has purchased this toy is asked to remove away from children and take to any Disney store for a full refund.
The UPCs affected are #405144100614 or #422147400633 and can be found on the packaging of the toy.
If your child loves Handy Manny, there is another interactive Handy Manny toy that was very popular during the holidays as well. It is the Handy Manny Talkin' Toolbox and both of my girls love it! They say little phrases and the tools all detach and fit in their perfect pot in the toolbox.
