Hot Christmas Toys for 2009
After doing a little research on what toys are going to be a Hot Sell this year, I have compiled a list of the toys that are expected to be the hottest toys of 2009. Check back often, we will continue to regularly update this page. Take a look:
Green Toys: With the big craze on environmentally friendly toys, it’s a guarantee that we will see many green toys on the market. Green toys can be reused, last a long time, use natural materials that produce little or no toxic byproducts.
Green toys also teach younger generations about the ecological challenges they will face as adults, including air pollution, waste disposal, and energy production and they promote a connection with the natural world.
- Crayola Beginnings Baby Drop and See
: Baby Drop and See Ball Drop- Every Baby needs a toy, and this one is great! This toy teaches children colors, shapes, and sounds while still making it very interactive for the child.
- Star Wars Science Toys: This line of toys offers education with a twist of “Star Wars”. This toy is ideal for kids who have a love for Star Wars and is made by the very well known company Uncle Milton. Uncle Milton has an exceptional history of translating science and nature into educational products that kids want to play with and by combining developments in technology and product innovation with the blockbuster Star Wars brand, they have created unique toys that appeal to kids, parents and even collectors. - Rubik’s TouchCube: The Rubik's TouchCube features touch sensor technology on all six sides, a motion-detecting accelerometer, and colored lights in every square. Rubik's TouchCube's motion-detecting accelerometer only recognizes moves made on the top side of the Cube, so that a player's fingers won't move the lights on other sides when holding it. Rubik's TouchCube stands alone as a great desk accessory and the colors slide and change while it recharges in its display stand. Rubik's TouchCube, will be in stores in the fall of 2009 and is appropriate for children ages 8 and up.

- Hexbug Toys: Innovation First is about to unleash a new robot insect on the world. 50th Anniversary Barbie: Barbie Dolls have always been a hot sell year after year and 2009 is Barbie’s 50th Anniversary which means they will be flying off of the shelves throughout the year, and flying even faster closer to Christmas Time!
- WowWee Toys: WowWee Toys has created something of a consumer robot revolution with their impressive lines of robotic toys. And this year they are doing it big again with their robotic toys. This year you will see Spyball spy-cam which is a remote-controlled, Wi-Fi enabled, transforming robotic ball that puts a fun spin on the otherwise dry world of telepresence gear. In addition to WowWee's Alive Cubs which are a series of animatronic-enhanced plush toys that mimic the behaviors of baby animals and other including the Roborover Robot, the Joebot Robot, and the famous Cinemin line.

Nintendo Wii: Every year there is always a game console that sells in abundance and this year it is predicted to be the Nintendo Wii again. Nintendo Wii is a video game system controlled from gaming industry giant Nintendo Co. Nintendo Wii is also attractive because it does not promise to be a major entertainment system, the way many other gaming consoles today do.

Nintendo Wii Fit has thrown gamers and people who are not gamers into wanting to get Fit. It offers a great way to stay in shape while having fun!

LEGO Mindstorms NXT
: Lego Mindstorms NXT is a programmable robotics kit released by Lego in late July 2006. It replaces the first-generation Lego Mindstorms kit, which was called the Robotics Invention System. It comes with a programming software called NXT-G, but a variety of others languages such as: NXC, NBC, RobotC, and BricxCC exist. A new version of the set, Mindstorms NXT 2.0 was announced in January 2009, featuring an advanced color sensor and many upgraded capabilities. This set is not yet available but will be in August and will be numbered 8547.
- Elmo Tickle Hands: Every year there is a new and improved Elmo Toy and this year one of the toys of the year will be the Elmo Tickle Hands. Because this year is Sesame’s Street 40th anniversary, Fisher Price has put together the “Elmo Tickle Hands, which will be available in August.”Elmo Tickle Hands" are furry, red gloves that vibrate and produce laughter like the Elmo Sesame Street character when the wearer touches something. When he puts on Elmo Tickle Hands, and touches or tickles you, Elmo will start to giggle and your kid will be giggling too.
- Elmo Live Encore
: They are also bringing back Elmo Live with Elmo Live Encore with additional tricks and songs. Elmo Live Encore will now sing Sesame Street classics like the theme song “Sunny Days,” “Somebody Come and Play” and fan-favorite “Elmo’s World.” In the meantime you can take a look at the Elmo Live from 2008
- Fur Real Friends: FurReal friends continue to be the hottest toys of the year and are so loving and adorable that every child wants to own one. There is a great selection of the FurRReal Friend that you can choose from: Biscuit’ my Lovin Pup, S’mores Pony, and many more. Hasbro recently announced for 2009 a FurReal Friends special edition Elephant named Zambi. He was created to help children who have been orphaned by AIDS in Africa. The artwork for ZAMBI's ears, feet and bracelet was created in part by some of these children, and 50% of the profits will go to a charity to help these children. You can Pre-order yours today... PlaySkool Kota: Although this toy was a Hot Sell from last year, it is expected to be a great sell for this year. The Playskool Kota My Triceratops Dinosaur plays four theme tunes that will help your child make-believe he/she is riding through a jungle on a wild trek. With lots of sound effects, including music, munching, stomping, and roaring, this baby dinosaur is a realistic creation. He even moves his head and tail and blinks his eyes. KOTA is built so that curious kids three and older and up to 60 pounds can enjoy a bouncing ride.
