Wooden Toys - the Most Durable Toys in the World

Wooden toys are regaining popularity again. And the main reason for this? It's durability. But first, how did wooden toys come about? Wooden toys exist because that's the most readily available material, and toys can be produced simply with a carving knife.

The price of a wooden toy depends very much on its age and general condition. The older it is, and the better the overall condition, the more valuable it will be.

In terms of price, wooden toys cannot match plastic toys upfront, as it's cheaper to produce plastic toys. However, wooden toys often last much longer, resulting in substantial savings in the long run.

Wooden toys traditionally started out to be cheaper than all other toys. But as technology evolves, plastic eventually starts to replace wood when it comes to making toys. Hence, many toy makers switched to plastic. So if the decision to buy a toy is based on price alone, then perhaps plastic toys will win this battle. But often, toys mean more than just money alone.

Today, the price of a piece of wooden toy rises in proportion to the time and skill required to make the toy. In other words, the more time and skill needed, the higher the price. Still, people continue to buy wooden toys because they are suitable for everyone.

Whether you are an adult or a young child, you will fall in love with tiny wooden toys, as they are just too adorable to resist. Wooden toys are also suitable for both boys and girls. There are toys like toy cars and toy furniture that are suitable for both genders. Children love wooden toys because they can play with them both indoors and outdoors.

To preserve a wooden toy, clean the surface with a wet cloth before putting it away. Regular cleaning will make the wooden toy last longer. Some children like to use wooden toys for pretend play. Pretend play stimulates a child's imagination. Simple wooden toys engages children and motivates them to think. The secret to improving thinking and motor skills is to use simple wooden toys to play simple games. For example, use wooden blocks for counting games, or use puzzles to help encourage thinking.

But for most toy collectors, they like to collect wooden toys because wooden toys can last for a very long time, they are often kept for sentimental reasons. For an avid toy collector, there are many different types of wooden toys to choose from. But what makes a wooden toy a desirable artifact to collect?

For one, as wooden toys last so long, they are often still around even when their owners have grown up. And despite having grown up, the owners often refuse to give away their wooden toys as these toys bring back many happy memories. Also, one does not have to worry about harming the environment with wooden toys. In terms of durability, wooden toys can outlast any plastic toys with ease. They are also popular because of their versatility.

Case in point: skilled toy makers can create more complex wooden toys such as puppets. Pinocchio is a wooden puppet in a fairy tale, and he wants to become a boy. Puppets are interesting toys that can move. Simple wooden blocks can be used as educational toys. They can be used to playing counting games, or to build shapes. Such wooden toys can be used many times over.

So whether simple or complex, wood can be made into all sorts of different toys. That means, surely, there must be some wooden toy out there suitable for everyone.

This is a really great toy organizer. Its very well made, and very sturdy. This will not tip over easily. The wood is thick and heavy, not flimsy partical board. The bins are really good quality. The fabric is thick and wont tear or rip easily. They bins even include a seperate bottom piece that you put into each bin (matching fabric) to keep the bins shape. The piece has a little pull tap too, so u can remove it easily for cleaning or whatever. The bins hold ALOT. They dont LOOK that big, but i was suprised how much i could fit in there. Im so glad I bought this one instead of the organizer with the plastic bins and the wood dowels..which sells for MORE then this one. Im considering buying a second one for the play room..

I had been searching for a durable and safe children’s toy organizer. On my final “time to make the decision” day, I found this on Amazon. It arrived two days later and I tackled putting it together and cleaning up my 14 month old’s room.

The bins are not the quality that I expected. As a previous poster mentioned, they do have a separate bottom piece, but my bins are made of cheap material IMHO. I was not pleased with the overall quality of the bins. The organizer is sturdy though and a cinch to put together. The bins held more toys than I imagined.

My 14 month old daughter loves the organizer. She was very interested in the bright colored bins (gender neutral) and the toys I put in them. I marked that this toy is educational as well. It’s a great way to teach your child to pick-up and sort.

Overall, I think the price was a little high for the quality (or lack there-of) for the bins. I’m fairly satisfied with the product though.

This is a great piece of furniture for my son’s playroom. It’s clean looking, colorful, and the fabric bins hold a LOT of toys! I’ve been looking for a toy organizer for a couple months now, but was reluctant to buy one with the plastic bins. I read too many reviews where the bins had cracked (sometimes even arriving that way) or broke completely and were then useless.

Well, recently I decided that I couldn’t put it off any longer, I HAD to make a decision. So, I did one last search, and this came up…thank goodness! It’s perfect! It holds tons of stuff, and is a very convenient height. My son can easily pull the bins down and get at his toys, he only needs help reaching the stuff in the hanging bins (he’s 13 months). Overall, I absolutely recommend this. It’s been a great addition to our playroom, and gets all his toys off the floor!

I bought two of these to organize my own closet. The wood is sturdy, assembly was fairly easy, the bins may not be real durable but they will certainly do fine for what I need. If they seemed heavier duty I’d have rated this 5 stars.

There was a little chemical odor when the boxes were first opened, but it faded even before I was done putting the piece together.
